  Hi again,

  According to our theme team, translations on the WordPress.org mirror are not regularly synced to the main WordPress core repositories. Because of this they recommend folks who want to help out with these projects to do so on the translate.wordpress.org repositories:

  Gutenberg
  Jetpack
  Apps
  WordPress Core

  It’s on their radar to clean this up to make it clearer to which projects are available to work on, but currently are focused on other projects so it’s not something they are working on presently. Hope this helps point you in the right direction!
