Can I Block a Spam Follower?

    I had a new follower today from:

    [link redacted by staff]

    I’ve removed this person from my followers list but also wondered if it’s possible to block stuff like this. Since they didn’t leave a comment I couldn’t consign them to the spam folder.

    Hi, iceage.
    In all honesty, I believe you have done all that you can do at this time.
    However, for better clarification and information on the topic of deleting and removing followers, I found this old thread which was answered by, regular forum contributor Timethief
    who seems to know this stuff inside and out. She has linked tons of information that should answer any questions you might have regarding this topic.

    Many thanks. I have tried the link you sent but when I click on it it says ‘this page can’t be found’. I did find a note saying Timethief had answered a question similar to this but it said the post was closed. Oh well, maybe the spammer has got what he intended – as in got his site noticed.

    I am really sorry for sending you that dead link. I’m not sure what happened there. Hopefully, the spammer will leave you alone.

    Just to confirm, you can’t block that account from following you again, but you can block them from commenting.

    @tophatt29,

    In threads like these, if the OP provides a site link like that to a site that might possibly contain mature content, please tag for us so we can take a closer look and remove the link if needed – the forums are public and accessible by minors, so we don’t want links to sites with an adult nature here :)

    While this site does not exactly qualify as mature content, I’ve removed the link in any case.
