Can I buy a domain for $18 without a plan?

  I used to buy a domain fo $18, now in only allows me to buy a domain with a plan and that plan cost $99. Please help me.

  New accounts require a plan upgrade to register or map a custom domain to your account. A side by side comparison of our plan can be found at http://wordpress.com/pricing/

  Perhaps you have an older account that you used before?

  If not, you can upgrade to WordPress.com Personal for $35.88 / year and it includes a custom domain.
