Can I cancel my account to get a different user id

Add topic to favorites
I responded to the invite for this site over my blackberry and accidently got the user id that is the same as the blog that I was trying to read. I don’t want to take that ID so really need to delete that account and start over.

Accounts are never deleted. You can re-register with a different name and a different email account. If you don’t have another you can create one with yahoo, etc.

Augh! But I still want to keep my link/website title. If I sign up again for the same one, it will tell me it’s already taken. That’s irritating!

Don’t delete your link/website. Sign up with a different name and email account and then add that new user to the old blog as an administrator. Then, if you want, you can delete the old user.

Also think this is silly. I misspelled my user name, now it seems everything else is affected with this misspelling. Doesn’t look like I can change it and it makes me look incompetent. Can’t use this blog now for its intended purpose. This is frustrating.

You can indeed change the appearance of your username (everywhere but in the forums, that is; that will always remain the same) and even the name of your blog. You do that on your Profile Page, under “Nickname” and under Settings->General.
