Can I change a header image or size from page to page?
-
My ‘in progress’ site uses the Academica theme. I am using a photo as my header on my landing page. Can I eliminate, substitute or adjust the size of the photo for other pages? It’s just a tad large. Thanks. Fred

Hi Frederick,
Currently, you cannot eliminate the header from certain pages. However, you can set the header images to rotate from your Custom Header page here:
https://angusson.wordpress.com/wp-admin/themes.php?page=custom-header
To do that, select “Random” under the option for “Uploaded Images”. Just a note, this will rotate the images randomly, so it might not accomplish exactly what you’re looking for.
Here are some other potential workarounds:
1. You could just set-up the image as a post slider as shown in the demo. The post slider is only shown on the home page and not on any other pages. Directions for setting up that can be found on the theme page here:
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/academica/
2. Instead of setting the image as the custom header, you could add it to the home page individually. The image would appear a bit lower on the page than a custom header, but it would only appear on the home page.
Would either of those two options work?

Thank you, Jeremey. I appreciate the help. Let me give these suggestions a try. Right now, I’m thinking that my custom header image is a tad big for the page and, depending, it isn’t clear that we’ve shifted to whatever menu link we’ve hit. The lower and possible smaller image might work. I’ll let you know. (One shouldn’t fall in love with an idea if the whole isn’t working….) Regards, Fred
