Can I change a theme through FTP?

Is there any way to change a theme using FTP instead of WordPress? Everything was working good, and I was trying different themes out whenever I ran upon one called “Aesthete”: http://wp-themes.com/aesthete/?TB_iframe=true&width=600&height=400
Now when I go to my blog I get the following error:
“Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in /home/paulf5/public_html/wp-content/themes/aesthete/functions.php on line 35”I wrote the author of that theme and was told:
“It looks like you are using PHP4.
The theme requires PHP5 at the moment. I’ll try to make it compatible to PHP4 in next version.”That’s great and all, but now I can’t even access WordPress to change the theme back to one that was working.
How would I reset the theme to back to the default using FTP?

We require the complete url starting with http:// for the blog you are referring to each and every time you post to the forum. If you do have a wordpress.COM blog then post the url so we can confirm whether or not you are in the correct support forum.There is no FTP access to wordpress.com blogs. We cannot upload wordpress.ORG themes from the internet. The only themes we wordpress.COM bloggers can use have been adapted to run on wordpress.COM software and are found here -> Appearance -> Themes
