Can I change domain and name of blog and what happens to old content links?
-
I’m thinking of changing the name of my blog The Worst of Perth and changing the domain for future posts if that is possible. But I still want to have all my old content. Is that possible? If so will all the old content links be under their original links?

Yes, your content doesn’t go anywhere just because you change the name/url of the site.

No, once your change the URL, the old links will not work.

How was this done? I’d like to do the same thing, BUT I do not want my users to be redirected to the new site.

Do you mean that you would like to create a site with a new URL, import all of your content from your old site, but not have anyone going to your old site’s URL redirected to your new site?

For me, I really just want to continue my 7 year old blog under a different name and URL. I would be fine if old posts had their current links but that doesn’t sound possible.

If you buy the redirect upgrade any of your old links will still work and go to your new URL. Your new URL, however, has zero googlejuice and will have to climb the ranks like a brand new blog. I do not recommend this change.

I think your best bet might just be to buy a new custom domain, rather than starting a whole new site.
