Can I change my custom domain name for my blog?

  I have had my custom domain name for my blog for over a year now of which i paid the $18 for and have recently renewed it. I would like to change this custom domain name to another name. Is there any way i can do this? Or am i going to have to shut my blog down completely and create a new one and pay another $18?

  Hi there,

  Domain names cannot actually be changed. They can only be canceled and then another (different) domain name purchased in its place.

  Further, domain names can only be refunded within 5 days of when they are purchased or renewed. So since yours was renewed 17 days ago, we would not be able to refund you for the $18. I apologize!

  So if you would like to purchase a new domain name, you will need to pay $18 for it, though you can have 2 domains at the same, so the original fee won’t go entirely to waste!

  So if i pay for a new domain name will that be a completely new blog? or will it just rename my old one?

  Hi there,

  If you purchase a new domain, as long as you’re logged into your current blog while doing so, it will just be added on to your blog and both domains will point towards your blog. You won’t get a totally new blog!
