Can I change my font to Verdana?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there,

    I would like to change my font to Verdana as that is our company’s official font.

    I notice WordPress.com selection has no Verdana.

    Can I find it someplace else or is there a very similar replacement for this font?

    Thank you.

    Hi @slsbearings, Verdana is a font installed on virtually all computer systems, so it can be added to the site with CSS. The browser looks to the computer fonts first.

    You can go to Customize > Fonts and click the “X” beside the base font to remove that and then add the following CSS to set it to Verdana.

    html, .fancy, .says, cite, blockquote, input, textarea {
        font-family: Verdana, Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif;
    }

    If you wish to set Headings to Verdana, that might be a bit more involved as there could be a number of places in the CSS where the font is specified for different h (heading) elements.

    Thank you for your reply. I have switched my font to Verdana by adding your code to CSS.

    How about if I want to change the Heading as well?

    How do I go about it?

    For titles and headings, add the following, which I think from looking catches all of the headings.

    .wf-active h1, .wf-active h2, .wf-active h3, .wf-active h4, .wf-active h5, .wf-active h6, .menu-top-menu {
        font-family: Verdana,Verdana,Geneva,sans-serif !important;
    }
