can I change pages to posts?

I have entered everything on wordpress as pages and have been advised they should have been posts in order to categorize them. It’s far too much work for me to start all over again. Can I change the pages to run across the top instead of down the RHS and thereafter I will try to enter posts instead.

The first part of your question was answered here:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-create-drop-down-menues?replies=2To turn each one of your pages into a post, you’ll go to Pages > All Pages, hover under the title of the page, click Edit, switch the editor to HTML, copy the whole content, then go to Posts > Add New, paste the content into the HTML post editor, publish. You can do this faster if you use two browser windows simultaneously.

Sorry, I hadn’t noticed your pages include galleries. My suggestion would work for images inserted individually but not for a gallery: a gallery normally uses images “attached” to a post or a page (that is, uploaded from your computer via the Add an Image tool of that post or page). So to turn a page with a gallery into a post, you’ll have to re-upload the images.
