Can I change the A record and CNAME?

I recently changed my website hosting account with Netfirms. Unfortunately, in doing so my website seems to have gotten erased. My webmaster used the pages from my esentranslationservices.wordpress.com blog to edit my esentranslation.com website. This is the suggestion from Netfirms:
    Hello Julie,

Since you are going to be hosting the site with WordPress, you will need to go into Domain Central and update the A record for the domain and likely a CNAME for http://www.thedomain(a cname is like a nickname in a sense).

However, you have to use specific values that correspond with WordPress’ IP addresses/hostnames. So, we can’t make things up to put in, you’ll have to ask WordPress what values to use then we can help you input these values.

I would like to know what your A record and CNAME values are, in order to get my website running. Thanks!

  • We don’t allow setting an A record. All you really need to do is get the MX records from Netfirms and set these instead.

We can’t support all email configurations, so you may need to use Google Apps for Domains for your email instead: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/google-apps-email/
