Can I change the colour of my heading only?

    I’d really like to make the title of my website a different colour than the rest of my text. Is this possible?

    Hi there!

    I can see that Rachel was able to guide you through how custom CSS works through your recent live chat and that, to change the colour of your title, you added the following CSS snippet:

    .site-title a {
    	color: #blue;
    }

    This is almost there! :) The only thing that tweaking is the value of colour. The hashtag isn’t needed in front of blue:

    .site-title a {
    	color: blue;
    }

    You might have got confused as a # is included before hex codes in CSS. Hex codes are used to define colours through CSS and can be more specific than just using the name of the colours. If you’d like, you can search online to find different colours and their corresponding hex codes. For example here:
    http://www.color-hex.com/

    The following is an example of how you could use a hex code to change your title’s colour with CSS:

    .site-title a {
    color: #ccc;
    }

    Hope this helps! By the way, did you know that we also have a dedicated forum for CSS questions? Staff and volunteers here specialise in helping with these sort of questions:

    I’ll be happy to help if you have any extra questions too.
