Can I change the date my blog was posted

  • Unknown's avatar

I wrote an article on the 9th but couldn’t get arround to posting it until the 18th. I want to keep my articles in chronological order so is there anyway to make it look like I posted it on the date I actually wrote it?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Do understand this. When you publish a post the datestamp becomes a part of the URL to that post. The post is indexed by search engines like Google under that URL containing that datestamp. The UYL is then available in search engine results.

If you edit the datestamp you “break the link” (URL) . Then anyone using a search engine to find your blog who clicks that first link will experience a “404” page not found. Also note that if you do this chronically change date stamps on your published posts Google search spiders will sense what your are doing and class it as “gaming search engine results”. Then the indexed posts will be dropped into their supplementary search results and will not be displayed unless someone looks there for them.

It’s NOT wise to to this. I do NOT recommend it and no one else will either.
