Can I change the size of my header image area?

I was wondering if there is any way of changing how big my header area is. I have an image that I would like to use but I really don’t want to crop it. Is there ANY way to do that? Any help would be really appreciated! Thank you!

This usually can be done with some custom css, but might look funky if the width is wider than the rest of the page
We can try to help with that – first please upload your image in the desired size to your media library, then let us know which image is that and we’ll see if we can make that happen for you.

It is the first image – lil bird grey LR. This will be the exact image size, but as you can see the picture isn’t complete yet. If you can tell me that it can be done that size I will continue to work on it and then upload the finished one soon.

How does it look?
Note that your site will load a little bit slower now, since it will load the larger image on top of the smaller one perviously set as the header.

It looks great, but the right side is a little cut off, I’m assuming that can be fixed? Thank you so much. When I get the correct header finished should I just contact you again to help me load it? THANK YOU! :)

If you’d like to make change to your image, you’ll need to upload the image to your media library.
Then you can change the URL that’s included in your CSS at Appearance -> Custom Design -> CSS.

Could it be cropped without the white border. So just cropped right to the edge of the image?

I tried to use CSS and I failed miserably! I have the finished header in my media files now. It’s called securedownload.
When I tried to use CSS it only uploaded about a quarter of the image for some reason.
Would you be able to help me out with this? I just need to add this new header and then my site is ready to go!

The option at Settings -> Reading applies only to RSS feeds and email subscriptions. It doesn’t affect how posts appear on your website.
If you want to split your content, you might want to use the more tag:
