Can I change the URL of current blog and hide another blog?

  I would like to change the name of one of my blogs–colonylibrarylady.com to become ‘schoollibrarylady.com.’ Can I do this without altering what is already on the site–I want everything there to show up as it is. If this is possible, then my second question is whether I can hide the other site ‘chaffeylibrarylady.wordpress.com’ from showing. This might not be ‘site redirecting’ exactly as I wouldn’t be leaving WordPress, and then, hopefully, would not have to redirect the traffic. Possible?

  Howdy Ms. Waddle,

  Yes, you can do that.

  First, you’ll need to purchase schoollibrarylady.com (assuming it has not been purchased by someone else). You can do this at the Store->Domains link in your dashboard (direct link: https://colonylibrarylady.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains )

  In any case, anyone visiting that site, colonylibrarylady.com or colonlylibrarylady.wordpress.com would all see the same site.

  You can change what the “primary domain” is on that same page. To keep Google and other search engines happy, we have one domain that is “officially” where the site lives. You can set schoolladylibrary.com as primary, then anyone visiting using the old address would see the site but the address in their browser’s address bar would change automatically to the new one.
