Can I change web address?

    Hi. I didn’t realize when I started my blog that my username was going to be part of the web address instead of what the actual name of my blog is. Is there any way to change this?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Lots of people get stuck that way; it’s not obvious at all that this is the URL you will end up with.

    There are some options:

    Keep the URL but change the blog name under Settings->General to Whatever instead of Username. This does not change the URL

    Make a new WP.com blog and transfer the first blog contents into the second blog. This is best if the first blog is new and doesn’t have incoming links yet.

    Buy the Domain upgrade and get Whatever.com instead of Username.wordpress.com

    Hi There! you can signup for a new WordPress.com URL here → http://wordpress.com/signup if you want the new blog under your current account then all you need to do is stay signed in while creating the new blog/url…

    Or you could go with the domain upgrade and have a more custom url please note that buying the domain upgrade does NOT exclude you from the WP.com rules & tos… Support doc for → Domain Mapping

    My blog name is what I want it to be. I just wanted to have it in the URL. I went to that signup page and the name I want is already taken. It’s closed, but taken. So, I guess I’ll either have to think of an extension to the name or just keep it as is. I wanted to be able to search the blog by name, but I suppose it won’t show up as it is now. I’m not sure if I want to pay any money for an upgrade just yet.

    What u want to do is called domain mapping….
    Itl change ur
    http://Www.example.wordpress.com

    Into

    http://Www.example.com

    It can b done by buying a premium WP account or shifting ur site 2 a new host.
