can I convert a Category into a Page?

I have created a couple of static category posts and realize that these might be better as pages.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There is no automatic way to convert a Page to a Post or visa versa. It’s a copy and paste and delete the original job.

Categories can be assigned only to Posts and not to Pages. Static Pages and dynamic Category Pages are not the same at all. The former cannot automatically update but the latter do.

This is an example of a category URL.Study it closely please and note that only dynamic category pages can automatically update.

Though there is only one dynamic page in a blog for posts (not pages) http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ and we cannot post to more than that one page, we can create the appearance that we have posted to more than one page.
We organize posts by assigning categories to them. You can create a custom menu and add the dynamic categories pages into the custom menu.

thank you for all the great support. I get it… and maybe my blog is ok as-is but I feel like I should change the menu Categories: “images”, “words”, “other interests” into Pages, as they contain static information leading the reader into their subcategories. what do you think? – thanks again, deb.

I think not. We deal with this question literally multiple times per day, and the answer hasn’t changed in eight years. Pages have no SEO. Google downgrades pages entirely. You can’t put posts as pages; all you can have is increasingly long, complex page hierarchies. And there’s a ceiling on how many will show up: I think it’s 80, so your site can never have more than 80 pages that people can navigate to. My blog has five thousand or so posts, all easily found via categories or a search.

ok, thanks for the advice. maybe I should just turn the specific pages into Sticky Posts to achieve what I’m after. appreciate your input.
