Can I convert my domain?

    I have an existing blog domain that I wish to terminate, rename or convert to online literary product selling. Can I do this or do I need to start from scratch?

    Correct account: Yes

    Are you referring to a custom domain that you registered on another account or are you talking about your WordPress.com site address at livingbesideanoilwell.wordpress.com?

    The answer will depend on what you’re referring to, so if you own a domain elsewhere, please let us know what the domain is so that we can look into it and share more details.

    Generally speaking, a custom domain can’t be renamed, but if you want to use it on a different site, you can move the domain to a new site to use it for a different purpose.

    I refer to the domain livingbesideanoilwell.wordpress.com. This is now an irrelevant blog and i wish to change the domain name it to be used by the new online business I am going to start on WordPress.
    If you are saying it can’t be changed i will therefore delete it totally and register a new one on WordPress.

    It’s possible to change an address as per these instructions here: https://wordpress.com/support/changing-site-address/

    As above, it’s also possible to register a new domain if need be.
