I would like to know if i can create a e-comm website using wordpress. If so, how do i do it? i am a novice in IT belonging to a different field professionally and i wish to start a e-comm website to sell my products. I have the graphics and layout ready. Can someone help me in this regard?

Yes, but not using WordPress.COM. Ecommerce is not supported here. You can do it using paid hosting and software from WordPress.ORG.

Thanx.. I am still in the initial stages of this online business platform. And i honestly do not have a ballpark figure in mind. What according to you will cost me a domain name/functional ecomm website/maintenance etc. cost me on an initial and yearly basis? I am seeing a barrage of info on the web relating to this..Cud u clear the mist for me pls?

If you’re willing to go with a prefab theme and one Shop page with a shopping cart and a Paypal integrated payment system, I’ll set it up for $1000 US that includes 25 pages or Posts or shopping cart items. The rest will be billed at $100 an hour to add. Hosting costs are extra, and depend on expected volume.
