Can I create posts under pages other than the “Home?”
-
Is there a way to add posts to pages other than the main page?
I want to “Pictures” page, but I don’t just want to keep adding to the same “page” each time I add photos. Yet, when I create a new “post” it automatically links it to the main page.. can I change this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Pages are actually for static content that rarely , if ever, changes. Yes you can create posts and add tags and categories to them as well. To create a new post, go to Posts > Add New from the dashboard or use the New Post link in the gray admin bar shown at the top of WordPress.com pages while you are logged in.

Ok, this is kind of a question within this original question..
I was able to change the settings (under settings > reading) so that my “posts” are added to a page other than the “home” page… Now my problem is this…
Also in “settings > reading” I have to set the “home” page as a static page which copies another page.. Therefore, to make my “home” page a welcome page of sorts, I have to create another page (which is entitled “Blank” on my blog) and link that as my static page to show on the “front page.” — (this is because the original “home” page does not show up in the list of pages..)
Isn’t there a way to just write a quick paragraph on my home page, and leave it at that? While still having my “posts” post to another page?
My goodness, I know I’m not making sense (although I am in my head) I just feel like my head’s about to explode!

Thank you for the link, I watched it, and that’s actually exactly what I did.. If you notice toward the end of the video, when it shows the person’s new “home page” the horizontal page listing shows “home” as the first page, and the “welcome” page as the last page..
That was actually my question.. Is it possible to (on the home page) not list a “home” AND a “welcome?” That seems kind of silly to me, seeing as how when you click on either one, the pages are identical..

It may seem off to you but some themes have a “Home”, “Blog” or “Front” page. That tab is hard-coded into the theme: you cannot edit or remove it (except in Motion).

See here too:
