Can I create two new wordpress sites?

I have a wordpress blog, and I have two other registered domain URLs. I’d like to add two new wordpress sites by using the two other domains I have registered already. I seem to be going in circles on how to start two new sites with wordpress.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I am a bit fuzzy on exactly what you want to do
Create a new WordPress.COM blog in the same account – you can have more than one blog registered with the same account
Dashboard >> My Blogs >> Register a New Blog
If you have an existing domain name (URL) that you want to appear on the new blog – you need to map the domain name to the blog – buy Domain Mapping

When I checked the “map-existing domain” directions there is a fee of $13.00. I already have it registered. If I have to register it again just to have a new host, I’ll just toss it.

I followed your advice and did this sequence: Dashboard >> My Blogs >> Register a New Blog ………. The new blog name does not accept my site name with the dash in the name of: timsfiction-art. This is the registered .com name I am having trouble with. If this is too difficult, I’ll probably do another name with wordpress, as I do like the ease of wordpress system as much as I have used so far. Fascinating really.

Yes domain mapping is $ 13.- / year per name – you can map a domain name you own with the instructions I gave above
you don’t need to register a new domain name – and if you already have a domain name you can’t register and existing domain name – the system should not let you – also you can’t transfer a domain name to WordPress.COM, they are not set up for incoming domain name transfers
domain registration is $ 5.- / year per name and that is on top of the $ 13.- / year for domain mapping
When you go to an outside host the domain mapping is built into the charges by the host – at WordPress.COM the hosting is always free so they need a separate charge for the domain mapping that is built into the outside hosting accounts

That all makes sense now. Except, that WordPress system DID accept my other domain URL – artbydesmond – which is also a registered site name. I did notice thought that if I don’t enter it as – artbydesmond.wordpress – it goes to a page explaining suspension of my old site. But the wordpress link say from FB and twitter that I did create does work.
I am prepared to toss my old domain name – timsfiction-art – as it may have had its own difficulties. I was reading lately about static URLs v. other URL types, and bots not reading well, but I know too, that I had other problems with the landing page things of the templates on ix webhosting sites. Thanks for some amswers, and the time to explain them.
