Can I de-link an email address from a WordPress account?

  I used to host my own wordpress site but decided to save some money and move it to worpress.com. I am chaning ISPs and need to change the email address associated with the account. When I try to change it to my Yahoom email address, WordPress tells me that this email address is associated with a different WordPress account. I don’t ever remember associating anything related to WordPress with my Yahoo account. Is it possible to contact WordPress, find out what WordPress site is associated with that email address, and then get them to de-link it so I can associate an email address with my WordPress account? (I can’t find anyway to connect with actual WordPress people, all the links seem to lead me back to the forums.)
