Can I delete a blog before the domain expires?

    I want to permanently delete my wordpress.com blog since I can’t blog anymore. But I still have 2 months left on my .com domain. When I try to delete my blog, this pops up :

    Warning! You cannot delete a blog if the blog has a domain registration upgrade. You must have access to the blog in order to get to the domain manager.

    If you do not want to use your blog any more please make it private. Other users won’t be able to visit the blog but you can still access the Dashboard so you can get to the domain manager.

    Can I delete my blog before my domain expires?

    Hello,
    Before you delete your site, you will need to Cancel your Domain, transfer it to another site, or make your site private until your Domain expires.

    Here’s some information about canceling your Domain if you purchased it through WordPress. If you choose to cancel your domain before expiration, please take note than even though it is not expired you will not receive a refund.
