can I delete my account?

  I recently created a new website with a new user. I deleted my old site but now I want to delete my old user account. How do I do this?

  Hi there,
  WordPress.COM accounts cannot be deleted permanently once created.

  But if you still wish to deactivate your account and leave WordPress, you can follow the instructions given here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/

  IMPORTANT NOTE:
  Even if you deactivate your account your username is not removed from the database, so that it’s not available to any other users when they are registering for a new account. This is done to keep you from being impersonated by anyone else.
