Can I delete my wordpress.com domain account so I can switch to wordpress.org?

  Hello! I just registered a domain last week through wordpress.com. I’m new to wordpress and unfortunately did not do my research. I need to switch to WordPress.org using BlueHost, and was told that I cannot transfer for 60 days as it is a new domain.

  Can I completely delete my domain so I can start fresh with WP.org immediately? Thank you so much (I’m a reformed Blogger user and need help :))

  No need to delete anything – you can’t delete accounts here anyway – if you cancel your domain registration it will take some time to maybe get the domain name back – or the name might be auctioned off or registered by a squatter and held hostage

  just change the name servers to your new host once you have hosting set up
