Can I delete theme?

  Hi:
  Day one on building website: I would like to delete theme. As a newbie I’ve decided to follow WP notes on “Build a Business Website”.
  I want to use a free website. I’ve already written content for pages (in Word) and know what photos I want to use. If I build page by page using WP instructions – will it mean I will have to have a customized theme or can I still choose a free one and adapt accordingly?

  Hi Linda, and welcome to WordPress.com!

  You can choose any free theme you like at:

  https://wordpress.com/themes/free

  Once you select and activate your theme, it will be visible on your site, automatically replacing the Goran theme that’s there now. There’s no need to delete your old theme, that will all happen behind the scenes.

  Just let me know if you have any other questions.

  Just starting up a blog, when I go to themes it says the one I have selected is active however the default one is still in place, I have tried logging in and out to no avail.
