Can I display random quote in my sidebar?

  Heya. I’ve always been a fan of the random quote thing that lots of websites have. You know, like they’ll have a little box in the corner and every time you go to the site or a page therein some random quote will be displayed there. Is there, by any chance a way to do something like that on a free wordpress account? Like through putting code in a text widget, or something?

  If you can find one that uses only HTML you can. You might also be able to find a quotations website that has a feed. You could put that into an RSS widget.

  Most random scripts use php or javascript for this process. If you can find one that is called from simple HTML, you could use the text widget ;) Other scripting languages are stripped out for security reasons!
