  I recently pointed a purchased domain name purple-marketing.com to a wordpress site that I had http://www.copywritingsolutions.wordpress.com

  I wanted to know if I could change the name of my wordpress site from copywritingsolutions to something else without affecting the domain mapping and connections already established between the two

  You can change the address of a site with the domain mapping upgrade, but to be honest, there’s not much point in doing so since all of your site visitors will only see your custom domain.

  Hi,

  Thanks for responding. My site visitors do only see my custom domain name except when downloading stuff from my site. I logged out and tried to download my free report and this was the address: http://copywritingsolutions.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/rediscover-yourself-aug20131.pdf
  This was the reason I wanted to change as http://www.purple-marketing.com is less about copywriting and more about inside out branding.

  Am I correct in this observation? Just wanted to confirm. Appreciate your guidance :)

  Ah, you are correct there.

  You should be able to change your WordPress.com address without interfering with your domain mapping.
