Can I edit my audio file when I’ve used post by voice?

If I use the post by voice feature but find that I, or someone else I recorded, messed up and said a little something we don’t want publicized but we like everything else we said about the recording, is there a way to edit the recording (the audio file)?
I’m thinking of a type of situation where I wouldn’t get a chance for a re-do. For example at a book signing or a brief personal comment from a politician or something like that. Or, even just a chat with someone who wouldn’t want to go through a re-do.
I haven’t tried the feature yet, but thought I’d ask first. Thank you very much for any advice you can offer.

You can download the mp3, use editing software to edit it, and then re-upload it, but unless you’ve got the space upgrade the ONLY way to re-upload it is to phone your blog and play the recording into the phone, which makes for lousy quality.
MY request for this feature would be that it go to Draft until you get to listen to and approve it. But that’s just me.
Remember, it’s doubtful at a book signing, etc, you’ll get people to speak into your phone.

Good point about it probably being doubtful I’ll get people to talk into my phone! I was thinking of it being like a digital voice recorder (i.e., a little more unobtrusive) but now that you mention it, I get your point and know it is so true!
How do we request that feature…of it going to Draft first? Email support directly?
Thank you for your help about the downloading, editing, and uploading. I do have the space upgrade (I’m pretty sure), so that would work. I guess I should have figured that out myself!

I thought of another question. If I use the post-by-voice feature, and then want to also include a photo that refers to my “voice” that I send by phone, can I have them somehow land in the same post without using any other technology besides my phone? Currently I have a Blackberry.

Well, the feature you’re talking about already exists: it’s called audio uploading. You can do it for free if you’ve got some offsite hosting for your MP3’s, or you can buy the space upgrade and upload them right here and then use the Audio Player in your posts. You have the upgrade, so you can do the latter and just upload edited files. There are several good, free audio editors out there.
Yes, sending things to staff directly via your dashboard Help button is the best way.
The ONLY way to put content other than the raw, untagged voice file in your post by phone posts is to edit it after it’s gone out. Which is why in your case I recommend more of a classic Podcaster approach, with an edited file being the one uploaded and then you can add a transcription, some notes, images, whatever.
The Post By Phone feature is really primitive. i’ve used it a couple of times, and always end up going back in and editing it, which annoys subscribers
