    Where can I see the email addresses of my followers?

    How can I email them?

    Hi Victoria,

    The names and email address of your Followers are kept private. However, there is a way to collect addresses in the future. I suggest using a contact form to gather email addresses if you wish to maintain a mailing list.

    Thanks Happiness Engineer – that’s really helpful.

    Does that have to be separate then from followers – ie someone would have to enter their email address once to follow, and then ALSO complete the contact form for me to have access to their address. Is that right?

    My pleasure! Happy to help.

    It is indeed a separate sign-up.

    If you add a contact form, I’d advise using language like, “Join my mailing list” or something that makes it sound different than, “Follow my blog.”

    If you’re worried about followers not realizing there is also a mailing list, you could add the contact form to one of your posts as well. That way, they’ll all get notification when you publish that post.

    Incidentally, followers/subscribers who are WordPress.com users don’t have to add their email addresses to your site when they sign up. It’s a simple click of a button. So, it’s not a lot of extra labor for them to fill out a contact form!
