Can I embed YouTube video with Content ID claim?

I would like to include a video into my article from a copyrighted content published on YouTube. Is it fine with WordPress.com?

    1. I have published a small 31 seconds clip from copyrighted content on YouTube.

    2. After publishing, I have received the following notification:

The Content ID claim on your video doesn’t affect your channel. This is not a copyright strike.
    Channel impact: Not affected.
    Claim type: Audio visual claim.
Impact on the video: Video cannot be monetized. Ad revenue paid to copyright owner.

    3. So, as I could understand, my publishing is cleared by copyright owner. Unless I would like to monetize it. I would not.

    4. I would like to embed the aforementioned YouTube clip into my article on WordPress.com. My WordPress.com plan is free. So I do not monetize the clip, it is fine with myself.

    5. However WordPress.com does monetize my site with ads, including its embedding content. So WordPress.com still could consider embedding my YouTube video as copyright infringement.

    6. From other side, YouTube could include ads into embed video. So copyright owner still get its ad revenue.

So the question is just about WordPress.com policy.

  • As long as embedding the video is allowed via Youtube, you can embed the video here. :)
