Can I export selected posts to a new WordPress blog with likes & comments?

  I’ve started a second WordPress blog. Some of the posts I’ve already written fit better into this new blog. I’d like to move them, but I don’t want to move all of my posts. I’ve found the ‘tools’: ‘export’ function. This seems only to allow me to export all of my posts.

  Hello there,

  I’ve taken a look at your sites, and as you don’t have a multitude of posts to move, I think your best solution is to copy and paste from one blog to the other.

  If it’s important to you to maintain the same publish date on both sites, you can do that. While you’re editing your post, look at the right-hand column of the page, and you will see a box marked Publish. Next to the label “Publish Immediately” is the link to Edit…click that. Once you do that, you can choose the date you’d like and save your changes.

  What I’d like to know is whether there’s any way of exporting individual posts or pages. As far as I can see, I can narrow the field by specifying, for example, date ranges, but this is not specific enough for me.

  No, there isn’t a way to do this with an export.

  The only way you can do an export and pick and choose content is if you want to manually adjust the XML before importing it into the new blog.

  Because this can be time consuming, and fraught with the possibility of making errors with the code, I suggest good old copy and paste. Is that a possibility for you?

  That’s what I needed to know.

  As you said in your first reply, I’ve got hardly any content at the moment. I’ve got photo galleries, so that’s an issue. I’m really thinking about future needs as well as what I’m doing now.
