Can I find all my comments on other blogs?

I comment on other blogs, using my WordPress log-in. I noticed I can only see the past week of comments. Is there any way I can see all my past comments, as I can do with Disqus?

Yes, but it only shows the past week. How can I get it to show all my activity? There doesn’t seem to be a “next page,” button, and I only see one page.

At this time we don’t have a way to view all of your past comments, just the newest ones. If you’d like, you can make a post over in the ideas forum suggesting you’d like a longer history to be shown.

So, what happened to all the old posts? Did they get eaten up or are they somewhere and just can’t be accessed? It is so much easier, for example, with Disqus, that I can see all my past comments in one place, rather than having to copy my comments to a word file or email to keep it. Although, Disqus deletes your comment if the blog deleted it, or the blogger deleted their thread. I believe it would be helpful if the system just kept everything a poster writes, unless the poster wants to delete it.

Comments are never lost unless the blog owner deletes them. However, we only display the most recent ones in the activities log. If this is an issue for you, I’d welcome your feedback in Ideas, where you can explain how it would be helpful to have more of a history available to you.

It would also be helpful if your site could keep all the comments a poster makes, unless the poster deletes them. This is also a problem with Disqus, as if the blog owner deletes a post, the thread, the blog, then your comment gets deleted from your page. I would like to keep a copy of all my comments in one place. Wouldn’t you? Now, I need to copy anything I think of as important to another place, like a word file or an email. It would make things easier.

All comments that a user makes on WordPress.com are kept indefinitely unless the blog owner deletes the comments (or the associated page or post since the comments are irrelevant at that point). For comments left on other blogs, that is up to whoever is providing the hosting and the site itself.
