Can I find what usernames and passwords are linked to one single e-mail address?
-
I have a blog I have been working on for a couple of weeks. I am hosting it with Laughing Squid and have a purchased domain name with GoDaddy. After making changes from the WP Dashboard, one day, I changed my password. Since then, when I logged in my blog wasn’t showing on the Dashboard anymore. I had a new default blog with a default theme (as opposed to the one I had purchased) and none of my changes. At some point yesterday I logged in and was able to see my edited site, but it’s gone again today. While I was able to log in I upgraded my account to be using my purchased domain. Today we are back at not seeing the site.
Thanks for your help
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy,
It sounds like there may be a bit of confusion about WordPress.org and WordPress.com. WordPress.org is the software that can be used on the host of your choosing (like Laughing Squid). You’re responsible for everything, but have freedom to anything you’d like to as well.
WordPress.com is the fully-hosted service that is built on the WordPress.org software. We take care of the technical aspects of your site, but have limitations (such as no plugins or themes not already part of our marketplace).
More on the difference can be found at WordPress.com and WordPress.org
On WordPress.com, you have this site: http://lacaradeotro.wordpress.com/
It sounds like you may need to contact Laughing Squid for help in making sure your domain ( http://lacaradeotro.com/ ) is pointing to the right account.
WordPress.org-based sites use user names and passwords completely unrelated or associated with WordPress.com (where there can only be one user name per e-mail address).
Additionally, it appears you may not need the Domain Mapping upgrade that you purchased a couple of days ago; if that’s the case, I’m happy to refund it for you. Please let me know and I can process that.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks!

Thank you Kraft!
So, let’s see if I understand. Because I have a self-hosted blog (Laughing Squid), I don’t need to deal with wordpress.com. So, if I want to log in and make changes to my blog, from my dashboard, I have to do it through wordpress.org.
I’ll contact Laughing Squid to see if they’re pointing to the right domain. According to this, I don’t need that upgrade I purchased because I am doing everything outside of wordpress.com, right? If this is the case you can cancel my upgrade.
I’ll review all you told me up here and see if I have any questions. I’ll let you know, also, if Laughing Squid fixes any problems.
Thanks.

Right on with one small tweak. You won’t have to do anything through wordpress.org (as a site); that’s just where you can download the software or get specific WordPress support. Your site, once we figure out the right URL, can be maintained only through your site’s address followed by /wp-admin/ (e.g. http://lacaradeotro.com/wp-admin ).
The one thing you may need WordPress.com for—you can use our Jetpack plugin to get many of the features of WordPress.com on your self-hosted site. If you want to use that, you’ll need to connect Jetpack to your WordPress.com account (it’ll walk you through the process), which will require you to login to your WordPress.com one last time.
I’ve refunded the $13, which should hit your account in the next couple of days.
Please let me know if you have any questions and let me know when you get fixed up!
Cheers!

Ok… Problem solved.
It was a matter of deleting the default index.html file and moving the files of my wordpress folder directly into my root/content folder. Now things are working and I am able to log into my blog’s dashboard through my websites /wp-admin/ address.
Now, what would be the benefit of installing the Jetpack plugin exactly?
Thanks

It includes a number of features that are either only from WordPress.com or uses our servers (e.g. a content distribution system for your images).
A full list of features can be found at http://jetpack.me/
Cheers!
