can I get a blog name that has been deleted?
-
Hello,
I have been setting up blog sites using wordpress.com to start my blogging business.
Also, I have a trademarked name for a column that I have been selling since 2004.
The name of the column is :Examining Life (And Things of Interest) and it explores interesting things.
However, when I tried to see if examininglife or examinelife, I got the following message:
‘examininglife.wordpress.com is no longer available. The authors have deleted this site.’
I take this to mean that whom ever reserved this name no longer plans to use it.
Since my main blog is examininglife, I would like to change my georgemcginn.wordpress.com to examininglife.wordpress.com. I plan on keeping my georgemcginn.wordpress.com to use at a later date.
Since I am a journalist who writes under that umbrella to promote either my other blogs or someone elses’, or write about something that is interesting or something that makes one examine life, and the name is being trademarked by me, I would like to change georgemcginn to examininglife, as I have already started to use this and I am taking all my past writings that fits the two criteria and placing them in this blog, I would like to have that as my name on wordpress.com.
Right now I have http://www.examininglife.net that points to georgemcginn.wordpress.com, but like my other blogs, cosmologyandspace.wordpress.com also has a website ww.cosmologyandspace.com and or my new one, dailydefensenews.wordpress.com will have a http://www.dailydefensenews.net pointing to it. I want to start a domain name with my name that is going to be my bio/resume, samples of my work (both writing and photogtraphy, and a list of blogs I write or keep uptodate so I can market my services.
Of the services I plan to offer, one is to sell my writing as columns nationwide, and would like our clients to see that the names I transfer to all match.
Eventually I will have wordpress.org templates and and wordpress running on my servers and the naming will not be an issue. But my plan is that it will take up to 3 years to complete the personal coding and exporting the blogs to my server.
Right now, I am running or plan to run:
examininglife.wordpress.com
dailydefensenews.wordpress.com
cosmologyandspace.wordpress.com
trainingrescueddogs.wordpress.com (and a clone at blogspot.com)
photographyforwriters.wordpress.com (and a clone at blogspot.com)
ifishon.wordpress.com
lifeinsmalltownamerica.wordpress.com
adayinphotographs.wordpress.com
travelphotographyandwriting.wordpress.com
archivedpublishedcontent.wordpress.comSome will be instructional, some news for specific topics, an archive for people who used to have works published but the publisher deleted them (example: Allvoices deleted everyone’s articles, some had thousands, with less than two weeks warning. This site will allow customers of mine to add their stories to this archive as act as an official proof of publication. Allheadlinenews did the same thing. When they deleted a writer, it automatically deleted all their work. It made a mess for their clients who paid for these articles and due to poor programming stories were deleted).
Please, if you can allow me to assign examininglife.wordpress.com to my list of blogs, I would greatly appreciate it. It will save time in having to wait for my Trademark to be awarded and then it becomes a different process. I would rather, if the person is no longer using that, I should be able to be able to assign this to me.
You can find my resume, credentials and letters of recommendations on: http://www.linkedin.com/in/georgemcginn.
I also graduated in high school with a 2-year degree in computer science, and kept a consuting business until 2001 when one of my clients purchased it to limit the competition.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)
