Can I get right-rail widgets with static front page in Twenty-Twelve theme?
-
Does the Twenty-Twelve theme allow front-page widgets to appear in the right sidebar when using the static front page? Seems like first and second front page widget areas both display BELOW the body content. Perhaps I would need a different theme to get those widgets in the right sidebar?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The “Front Page” widgets show below the content on a static page, if you have selected the front page template for that page. If you want a static intro page as your front, with widgets in the sidebar, you use the default template for the intro page.

You are using the “Front Page Template.” Switch to “Default Template” to display widgets in your right sidebar.

Thanks, you two. And if I use the “Default Template”, then my front page will display the same widgets that appear throughout the site, correct?
And if the answer is yes, can you recommend another theme that offers front page static templates with widgets that appear in the right sidebar?

a) Yes, except if you intentionally change their visibility options, as Tess pointed out.

No, because all themes allow you to set a static page as your front, and most of them have a right sidebar. You can see all themes in action here:
