Can I go from a domain to a blog (site.wordpress.com)?

  I paid for a domain name, but I want to be sure I can go back to site.wordpress when the payment expires, without loosing my content.
  I own another domain linked to wordpress, but when the payment expired I lost everything I’ve publish and don´t want that to happen again.

  Hi there!

  The domain is just an address, it does not contain your site so you won’t lose it when the domain expires. If you register or map a custom domain to your WordPress.com site, when the subscription expires, your site will go back to using the free subdomain that it uses currently.
