Hi All,
I hope you can help me.
I would like have a quotation from an author to show on one side of every page on my blog.
I tried the text widget, but it displays the same text in all pages (as is attached to the left hand side bar) …..
How could I have this quotations ( a differente one for every page) to stay on the left hand side bar ???
Any suggestions are welcome !!
Many thanks !!

Hi Timethief,
Thanks …. any suggestions as to how I could get something similar, or that type of formatting ?
Thanks !!

You cannot achieve having different text widgets on every page in a flog on a free hosted WordPress.com blog.
You can hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install and do that. http://wordpress.org/

One more thing if I may … on the subject of format … I’d like to change the the font size ..but apparently I have to pay an upgrade to do that .. is that right ?
Many thanks.

It depends. You can hand-code each post one by one, and that will allow you to change the font size of the copy, but not titles. Or you can purchase the Custom Design upgrade and make one change in the code that always applies.

Thanks all … I have one more question on the subject of formatting:
I would like to remove the left hand bar … I bought the custom design upgrade but it does not seem to provide for this kind of customization ..
Do I need to install wordpress (does that provide extended tools ??) ..is this a CSS coding job ??? if so where can I find code snippets that I could use ??
Many thanks.

CSS editing cannot be used to change anything except appearance. It cannot be used to change the way any theme here functions.
Does the Custom Design upgrade let me edit HTML?
No. The Custom Design upgrade allows you to edit fonts and CSS only. You can change the appearance of a theme, but not its HTML markup, PHP code, or content. Read the full entry here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questionsYou can usually request a custom design refund yourself directly from the Store section of your Dashboard

If applicable see also http://en.support.wordpress.com/bundles/#canceling-a-bundle -
The above reply is wrong: yes, CSS editing has to do with appearance only, but appearance includes repositioning as well as removing existing elements.

Can this be done or not?

@leapresearch
The answer is yes it can be done. I don’t help with CSS editing but the upgrade does come with Staff support. -
-
Sorry. I can’t help with CSS editing. I have flagged this thread so it gets moved to the CSS Forum for you.
-
@leapresearch: As for your original question (different widgets on different pages, that’s also possible via CSS editing (if you have the Custom Design upgrade).

@jutpi
Thanks for clarifying both issues. I appreciate it as I don’t want to be providing incorrect answers. -
