Can I have background music?
-
I want to have background music all the time on my site (stageworthymidis). Is that possible? Site is kind of boring without it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there!
It sounds like your best bet is to embed a SoundCloud audio player on your site:

SoundCloud does have a setting for auto-play.
Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks much!

Thanks again for the SounCloud idea – but something else suddenly occurred to me. I often provide a music sample or video on an individual post. If the reader tries to listen to one of those, will the background music stop? I’m betting not the case. Would really be nice if the background would temporarily go away then come back, but I’m sure that’s too much to ask.

Hi there,
The auto-play track won’t stop when another audio clip is played.
Maybe the best use is to have the audio play automatically on the main page and any other pages without optional sound links? But, you can leave it off from pages with other embedded sound files.
You’ve probably already considered this, but it might be your best bet so that your sound doesn’t overlap and get muddy.
Hope this helps. Cheers!

Thank you for your quick response and wise advice. I think I’ll just forgo any music on the site…. sounds too complicated and will eliminate any sound overlap. Thanks so much for your help…

Dave,
I think that’s a great idea. Why not give your visitors the opportunity to choose which tracks they’d like to check out?
If I can help with anything else, let me know. Best of luck with the site!
