Can I have email and ftp access with my domain bought with WordPress?

  Hello,

  I have bought a domain and would like to know if I can get email addresses and ftp access on this domain.

  We don’t allow FTP access on WordPress.com for security reasons. For more information, please see:

  However, you can set up email addresses with your custom domain name using Google Apps. For full instructions on how to do this, please take a look at the following page:

  Ouch… I didn’t know… Do you think I could ask for a refund? I really need an ftp access and I do understand your choice.

  Certainly! You are welcome to keep your domain with us and update the nameservers to point to another hosting provider by following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#update-nameservers

  After 60 days from the date of purchase, renewal, or nameserver change, you may also transfer your domain to another registrar: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/domain-management/#transfer-to-another-registrar

  We can also cancel and refund your domain, but you may not be able to get it back later — here, or at a different registrar. Is that okay with you? If not, then the first option would probably be your best bet.

  Thank you for your help. How can I get a refund if I update only the nameservers to point to another hosting provider?

  I apologize if that wasn’t clear! We would only be able to provide a refund if you decided to cancel your domain name. Otherwise, you could have WordPress.com act as your domain registrar.

  After 60 days, you could then transfer your domain to a new registrar, if you’d like.
