Can I have two different accounts with the same owner through WordAds?

This is a toughie, concerning WordAds. I know that I can have more than one blog under my “name.” I have interest in creating a second blog, but I would like it to be non-associated with my first blog (i.e. if someone clicks on my icon picture, they can’t wander into the second blog.

So, I imagine that I’ll need to create a whole different account for the new blog. Let’s say that I elect for, and am accepted, WordAds for both blogs. Is there a way to use the same SSN and other info, even though it’s for two different accounts?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Yes, the SSN and payment settings are actually controlled on a per-blog basis, rather than a per-person basis, so you can have as many WordAds blogs with the same SSN and payment settings as you want (pending approval, of course).

Excellent. Thank you for that explanation.

So, with the situation I described, you might recommend that I have two entirely separate accounts (not just one account with two blogs underneath it), yet apply for WordAds with the same information?

  • Sure, that would be perfectly fine. We can do it on the WordAds end either way, so do whichever is most comfortable for you. :)

    Perfect. Thank you so much.

Since we’re on the topic, what is the minimum volume to qualify for wordads? The best guess I’ve heard is 20,000 pageviews per month.

What happens if one blog has reached 60 and the other 50, totalling $110 and enough for a payout, but neither has reached the $100 individually?

We can no longer release the number, but I can say it’s definitely lower than 20,000. :)

At the moment, the blog itself is the WordAds account, so neither would be paid yet under the scenario. You’ll be paid for each blog when each blog reaches $100.

We are working on switching to user-based accounts and payments, and have a few people testing it right now. We’ll launch it when we’re sure it’s being done right. :)

Good to know, mac. Can you tell me if it is less than 10k/month page views? : )

Also, is there any penalty to applying more than once? I just don’t want to apply too prematurely.

Is it better to apply when you’re still a smidge low on numbers, then have it be accepted once it pops over?

And/or, mac, could you tell me about what percentage of the way there I am (pageviews wise)? I couldn’t help but notice you did that for another forum questioner at one point.

I’d invite you to all my birthday parties if you did. : )

And, yes, there will be cupcakes.

You’re close to the right target, it is less.

It’s impossible to apply more than once. Your application remains in the system until you reach the minimum, then it’s sent to the advertisers for approval (and almost always approved).

Feel free to apply at any time. :)

You’re about 25% of the way there. :)
