Can I have two urls for the same website
-
1. I want to change the name of my website but I want to keep my current url and the new one.
2. I also would possibly like another website –a community website to be the parent of my current url.
3. I would like to have a couple of people from my staff of volunteers have access to create pages and posts but not publish them before I give the approval. Is there a possible way to give them limited access to the back end of my site?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can have multiple custom domains point to your site. But only one can be set as the “primary” domain (the one that users will see). So, if an imaginary site had johnsmith.com set as the primary domain, johnsmith.com, alljohnsmith.com and lovejohnsmith.com could all point to johnsmith.wordpress.com, but users would only see johnsmith.com when they visited the site. Does that make sense?
I also would possibly like another website –a community website to be the parent of my current url.
You can start a new WodPress.com site. But there are no “parent/child” sites on WordPress.com.

You probably want to add them in the “contributor” role. See here for more info:

Thanks for your response Rootjosh. Withing WordPress.com, how do I get my other domain names to point to the primary?
And, another question, if I switch to wordpress.org software on another host, will I be able to take all that I’ve built with wordpress.com with me?

Just head here:
https://wordpress.com/domains/
And register or map your new domain. Whatever you have set as your “primary” domain will be the one that the others point to.
