Can I host my blog on WP using my domain name without moving my site from another registrar?

We own a domain mycompany.com. I would like to setup a WP blog on the URL mycompany.com/blog. Without moving the domain from the original registrar, how can I map that URL in WP? I looked at Domain Mapping info on WP’s site but could not fully understand it. Appreciate any help. Thanks!

    Hi fiteosocial

Yes, Domain mapping is the feature that WordPress provides when you want to use your existing domain and don’t want to change the domain registrar.

Please remember custom domain can be added if you are under any of the paid plans that wordpress offers. For more information on plans please refer to the link below:
    https://wordpress.com/pricing/

Now, what exactly happens is like when you upgrade to the paid plans and want to add domain to your site. WordPress offers you to add a new domain or can use your existing domain with your WordPress.com new site.

Here is the support document that will help you step by step to add existing domain to your site:
    https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/#steps-for-mapping-a-domain

After adding the domain which you want to map. You need to update the name servers for the domain so they point to WordPress.com.

Here you add the WordPress.com name servers to your domain under your domain registrar which will tell that you want to point this domain to a WordPress.com site

For more information on domain mapping please refer to the document below:
    https://wordpress.com/support/domains/map-existing-domain/

If you still have any doubts feel free to ask

    Hope this helps.
