Can I install plugins?

  Hi;

  I have a bit of experience with my own installation of the wordpress software ( very pleased ) on my own web server space. i volunteered to set up a wordpress.COM blog for a group I am part of. So far, they want me to go only with the features that can be had freely.

  So, my question, on the wordpress.COM service, can I install plugins? I ask because I didn’t see it in the menu.

  The search function in: http://en.support.wordpress.com/ also works well and is faster.
