Can I keep multiple blogs on one account from being identified with each other?

I want to add a second blog, but don’t necessarily want people who read my existing blog to see a link between them, like when they click on my gravatar. But when trying to create a new blog, I had to give my email address, and WordPress recognized that email address. If I create another blog with that same email address (and password), then will users see my blogs listed together anywhere? Can I set a preference somewhere so they will be separate? Or would it be better to just get a new mail account? I don’t want the new blog to be private, just not linked easily to my other one. Thank you!

The short answer is, NO.
The longer answer is, you need a new email and a new user account and that user account needs to create the second blog. That way there is nothing tying them together.

Every blog has a sole owner and it is the person with the username account who registered the blog under that username account and associated email address.
In order to completely disassociate blogs currently registered under the same username account and associated email address proceed as follows.
Log out of WordPress.com and clear your browser cache and cookies.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/Without logging in to WordPress.com, register another username account under different email address.
To transfer a blog from one username account A to another username account B you must first log in under the username account A that owns the blog you want to transfer to the other username account.
Next you add the other username account B as an Admin of the blog.
