Can I keep my Google Search indexations when I map my domain?

    Hi there.
    I have a Wodpress site and I am currently using a free plan.
    I have my own website domain, which is redirected to my wordpress site. I’d like to pay and map my domain, but I am wondering if there is any way to keep my positions at Google search, which have been indexed with the old website name (.wordpress.com) and keep the organic traffic I’ve grown? Is there any setting to do so under a free plan?
