Can I keep my retired premium theme if I downgrade to free plan?

I want to downgrade my premium plan to free. I have canceled my renewal that is due in September. My premium theme is Tortuga, which I found out has been retired. When the downgrade happens, will that theme be gone and replaced or will it still be there since it is retired? Also, if not, what theme will it be replaced with?
Also, just to confirm, will the free plan be secure? I will still be keeping my domain name, but will that be rerouted to my WordPress blog address?

Hello there!
If you activate a Premium Theme with the Premium Plan but later downgrade to a free plan, you will no longer have access to that theme. Your site will automatically switch to one of our default themes, altering the appearance of your site. However, your content will remain unaffected. Alternatively, you can choose a different theme before downgrading.
While it is possible to have a domain without a plan, in order to make your domain the primary one for your site, you will need to have a paid plan. Otherwise, your domain will redirect to your free kufrances.wordpress.com URL.
You do have the option to switch to the Personal plan instead. Although you will lose access to the Premium themes, you can still retain your custom domain and provide your visitors with an ad-free experience.

Thanks for your reply. For the free plan, what kind of help and support are there? Is it only in the forum or by email? There was no one available for chat support right now anyway. That is one of the reasons for my downgrade.

Free users are supported here in our community forums, with email being an option for paid plans, and chat being an option starting with the Premium plan.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I used that option. There was no one answering me in chat support, only a message saying I will be contacted as soon as someone was available or by email. It was during the weekend so maybe people were busy. I still have sometime to change my mind but I am using my blog much as I had planned, so the free plan may be enough.
