Hi there:
If your domain is registered here at WordPress.com, you can follow the steps here to update the domain nameservers to point to your new host:
I hope that helps!

Thanks. Second question is I’m also forwarding email addresses. Can I retain both the domain registry and the email forwarding and point to the new host for the website?
-
Yes, normally you can do that if you decide to either:
- Add the WordPress.com “forwarding” MX record at your new host, or
- Point your domain to your new host using A records instead of changing the nameservers: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/setting-custom-a-records/
Of course, if your new host also offers email forwarding then you could simply set up email forwarding directly with them, after you’ve changed the nameservers!
