Can I let users self-register so they can post?
-
Hi, is there any way for me to let users register themselves and then post to my blog? I know they can comment but I’d also like them to be able to post new entries. Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You’ll need to invite them to be authors in order for them to post on your blog.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#authorYou could use a contact form so readers who want to post can reach you with their WordPress.com username / email so you can invite them.

Hi 1tess, thanks so much for the quick response. Is the contract form something built in or do I get there somewhere else.
Thanks again

Here you go:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact-form/Just a thought, but it sounds as if you are wanting to host a forum rather than having a blog. WordPress.com does not offer forums, but if you search online there are a number of free forums available. I don’t know how they actually rank inSEO—From my experience with various forums, I think you have a better opportunity to attract readers with a blog. Just my opinion…

In terms of free forums, I found this:
