Can I link my old WordPress (GoDaddy hosted) blog to my new account?

  • Unknown's avatar

    I already have a WordPress blog, http://castironbalcony.com. This has been on hiatus for some years and unfortunately I have lost my login details. I have started a new WordPress account with username “castironbalcony” (email = (email visible only to moderators and staff).) Can I link castironbalcony.com to this account and log into its dashboard from the new account?
    NB I have checked “I do not have a blog” because WordPress only provides support for WordPress.com blogs. But this blog runs on WordPress, so someone might have a clue…

    @castironbalcony

    You’ve reached support for the free blogs hosted at WordPress.com. The site you’ve indicated, castironbalcony.com, is running a self-hosted/installed version of WordPress (using the free WordPress.org software).

    To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. You can read more about that here:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

    Since your site is self-hosted with a different provider, support staff at WordPress.com do not have access to your site’s files or the ability to provide support for your current issue.

    You can find support for your self-hosted WordPress site here:

    You may also wish to contact your host’s support team for more assistance.
